MD:Pro in a nutshell
We have established by now that MD:Pro is a malware repository, but it is a whole lot more than just that. We would like to think of MD:Pro as an invaluable complimentary toolset helping you in the fight against malware. With this in mind, we can reveal that MD:Pro is a complete service consisting of:

Sample volume
Sample volume normally varies between 30000 – 70000 malware samples per week, with some exceptions now and then. Below graph shows the sample volume additions to the MD:Pro database on a weekly basis. Although we are currently updating the MD:Pro database weekly, we will be switching to daily updates soon.

Malware sources
Our samples come from various sources: honeypots, alliances, trading/donations & our own research.
Sample distribution
We distribute live malware samples to our customers, in password secured ZIP compressed format every update cycle. Update cycles are identified by an MD5.WeekXX.YYYY naming convention and the files are in md5.zip format.
Reports
These are generated in various formats such as XML and CSV. For each update cycle we provide a cumulative sample report that you can not only use as a great file reference but also as data input in reports, etc. For each file we distribute we currently list (where applicable):
- Hashes (MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA512 & SSDEEP)
- File size & file type
- PE information
- Packer identification
- Anti-virus scan results
MD:Pro web site
The MD:Pro web site is a members-only resource, containing extended, searchable information on every file we have in the database. Additionally, you are also able to download file analysis reports, receive updates on service status, keep track of our movements and get in touch with us for any support questions you may have. Note that while file searches are open to the public, viewing (complete) file details is limited to registered members only. To get an impression of the information we provide, you can perform a search for MD5 string 'f4cc1b17617b9cfcfeb90e73356b8639'.
